**I like to start the show with the word of the day & quote of the day.  You may need these words of encouragement to brighten your day.

These positive words can significantly influence when used correctly and with someone who may need them.

 

Today's word of the day is " humility. "

Humility is the ability to view yourself accurately as an individual with talents and flaws, all while NOT being arrogant, by bragging and gloating.

When humility is absent in a person, pride sets in and if you do not check yourself, selfishness and narcissistic behaviors start to be a part of your character.

Most often, those who display cockiness that stems from unidentified insecurities.  the fact that they have gotten away with their poor behavior for so long, it is who they are.  Overly high self-esteem is not actually being confidence at all.

When you have humility, it helps you in having a kinder approach when you have to deal with others.  Because when you are humble, it offers the opportunity to become less self-involved. 

If you are having trouble with knowing how to be humble, here are a few ways that might help.

 -  Again, do not be prideful!!  You can have pride in your accomplishments BUT remember what I said above.

-  Do some soul searching - Humble people look inward.

-  They own their mistakes -

-  They are teachable - no one knows everything.

-  Compliment others - Take the focus off yourself for a minute and assure someone they are doing OK.

-  Don't be a pushover - You always need to stand up for yourself.  The point of humility is that you do not have to make someone feel worthless while doing so.

-  They are truthful and honest.

-  They forgive quickly

- and following their values

We have all been there, stuck between a rock and a hard place, when it comes to making a decision.  When it is a humble person in this situation, they think about their values when they make decision.  Humility is to accept things with grace.

Sometimes we cannot change the core of who we are.  Sometimes all we can change is the way we choose to act and our decisions because of it. Choosing better actions is an improvement, so don't let that stop you from trying.
