Winners never quit and quitters never win. Whether you call it determination, grit, or old-fashioned hard work, the will to keep going is a vital component of success.
In fact, recent research suggests that having determination is more important than being smart. That is because your intelligence (and the rest of your talent) is an inherently passive quality, but determination is active.
Determination is Transformative
Your innate talents may create opportunities, but you have to put in the real work to make those opportunities a reality. Hard work is so important that, even if you have an average level of talent, you can still use determination to transform what you do have into success.
Determination keeps you moving forward
Determination is about staying focused on a goal. And as long as you have a goal, you can create paths to that goal, moving eer closer to the success you want.
Determination Overcomes Failure
What happens if you run into obstacles on the path to your goal? You push through them or you blaze a new path. That is the thing about determination; it helps you keep going regardless of what is put in front of you. With determination, failure is just a diversion. It's not an end!

- Stay Focused on the Future - Let the past guide you, but never let it consume you.
- Believe in yourself - You are in control of your life.
- Celebrate Others - Jealousy of others success will just slow you down.
- Have smaller goals within the larger goal - To keep yourself going, give yourself milestones you want to reach.
- Be Grateful - Take time to recognize what you have instead of obsessing about what you don't have.

"AIR" the Movie
Ahron & I had the opportunity to see the new movie "AIR" about Nike determination to get Michael Jordan.
I give it a B+, the movie teaches to never give up. Do not accept no or anyone who says no you can't do that, or achieve that. The movie stars:
Matt Damon - Sonny Vaccaro, Nike shoe sales
Ben Affleck - Phil Knight, CEO of Nike
Viola Davis - Deloris Jordan, Michael's Mother
Damian Deano Young - Michael Jordan
Matthew Maher - Peter Moore, shoe Designer
Chris Tucker - Howard White
Julius Tennon - James Jordan, Michael's Father
Chris Messina - David Falk, Jordan's Agent
Jason Bateman - Rob Strasser, Sonny's boss at Nike
The movie is about follows the history of shoe salesmann Sonny Vaccaro, and how he led Nike in its pursuit of the greatest athlete in the history of basketball, Michael Jordan.
Jordan is mostly off screen, while leaving that part of the story to Viola Jordan as his protective and strong-willed mother, Deloris.
"The mommas run stuff," Vaccaro is told early on, and his courtship with Deloris and her husband James becomes the film's centerpiece, augmented by the skepticism of Vaccaro's boss, Rob Strasser, and his profane exchanges with Jordan's hard-charging agent, David Falk.
Davis has made a habit of stealing movies, and "AIR" is no different, with her again emerging as its MVP in a supporting capacity. It was fascinating to see Nike portrayed as a underdog and watching Sonny work to preempt the market leaders, Adidas and Converse and deal with the unpredictable changes of chasing high school and college athletes, before he turned against the system by championing a lawsuit challenging the NCAA's model of amateurism.
