**I like to start the show with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " gratitude "
//: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness:
**Quote of the day:
"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. " - Albert Schweitzer
What do you think gratitude is? Do you practice it on a daily basis?
Gratitude. It is a positive emotion that involves being thankful and appreciative.
Gratitude stems from the recognition that something good happened to you. When you experience gratitude, you feel grateful for something or someone in your life and respond with feelings of kindness & warmth.
It is also associated with several mental and physical health benefits.
Being able to express your appreciation and thanks for what you have, is a good way to start.
- Be thankful for your health
- Being grateful for the beauty you encounter in your daily life. (take a walk, look around at all you may have been taking for granted.)
- Thank someone for the positive influence they have in your life.
- Paying attention to the small things in your life that bring you joy and peace
- Spend a few moments thinking about the things in your life that you are grateful for. We are all so busy, have a ton going on that we do not appreciate the people and things in our daily lives.
- Do something kind for another person to show them how grateful you are to have them in your life.
SOME are naturally prone to experiencing gratitude more than others. But gratitude is also something that you can learn and practice more often. It isn't so complex or challenging. The more your practice it, the better you will become and put yourself into a grateful state of mind!
Think about it.
- Do you feel like you have a lot to be thankful in your life?
Pausing for a moment to appreciate something or someone, and giving thanks for it can help you feel a greater sense of gratitude.
- If I asked you to make a list of all the things you are grateful for, how long would your list be?
Learn to observe the moment. Are there people who have done something for you?
- When you look at the world, can you find many things to be grateful for? Learn to focus on the experience and allow yourself to take in all those good feelings.
- Do you frequently experience moments where you appreciate someone or something?
Gratitude is all about recognizing and appreciating people, things, moments that bring joy, peace, or comfort into our lives.
Practicing gratitude can have a positive impact on both your physical and psychological health. Just a few of the benefits of gratitude include:
- Decreased stress
- Lower blood pressure
- Less anxiety and depression
- Better Immunity
- Better sleep
And higher levels of optimism
Because it helps you focus on the present, it plays a role in MAGNIFYING positive emotions.
When you come to the realization that there are people in the world who care about you and are looking out for your interests, it can help you recognize your value and the values of others.
You got this! I believe in you!!
