Today's word of the day is " Optimistic "

What does it mean to be optimistic? Do you possess this great quality?
An optimistic person thinks the best possible thing will happen and hopes for it even if it's not likely.
If you see the glass as half-full when others see it as half-empty; if you look on the bright side of things, you're optimistic.
If the chain falls off your old bicycle or the tire goes flat you say, "But look! The little bell still works - I'm sure this bike will be fine," you're being very optimistic. Although some naysayers might say you are "delusional."
Even the most miserable day holds the promise for them that tomorrow will probably be better.
BUT, believe it or not, an optimistic attitude may lead to a happier, healthier, and more successful life. It's true. Researchers found that optimism can protect against depression and help you live longer.
I came across this list of traits of an optimistic person:
You are:
- encouraging
- full of promise
- advantageous
- Look on the bright side
- of good cheer
- you see through roe-colored spectacles
- pollyannaish
- eager beaver
- hard driving
- cheerful
- always expecting the best
Remember I said that there is research that shows that being optimistic has a number of potential advantages - here are just a few:
- you're happier
- you have better relationships
- you have fewer negative emotions
- longer life expectancy
- less stress
- better emotional well-being.
If you always see the brighter side of things, you may experience more positive events in your life than others.
It is also possible to develop a more optimistic outlook. Pessimists (people who do not look at the positive) can learn to be optimistic by thinking about their REACTIONS to bad events, in a new, positive way and CHALLENGING negative, self-limiting self-talk, and replacing it with more optimistic thoughts.
- First identify the situation that are triggering negative thoughts or moods.
- Assess how you are feeling in the moment. And do not let your emotions rule.
- Identify the negative thoughts that you are having in response to the situation.
- Look at the evidence to either support or refute your negative thoughts.
- Focus on the facts, and replace automatic negative thoughts with more positive, realistic ones.
So do not give up hope, or be one of those people who says, "I am who I am, I am to old to change etc…
Winston Churchill once said, "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
I just ordered me a gratitude journal, to help me in this area of always looking for the good in your day.

- A New Segment for The Morning Show with Dena Jo. Well Bamm Bamm came on Monday and we talked briefly about me not being able to find the time to watch most of the movies I play the soundtrack too. So here are the changes. I will be moving the soundtrack music segment from Wednesday to Friday's BECAUSE on Thursday's starting November 30th we will watch the movie to the soundtrack that I will know play on Fridays. We are looking forward to hanging out and as Bamm Bamm put it shoot the shit will we watch the movie. So again,
- New Movie Segment starting on Thursday November 30th.
- Friday we will play the soundtrack to that movie we just watched the night before.
We are going to have a blast!
