Today is Friday August 11th.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "responsible/ responsibility"
//: being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it:
capable of being trusted
**Quote of the day:
"Nothing will ever change while you point the finger of blame.
Out of responsibility comes possibility." - Lisa Villa Prosen
What is responsibility? We have a few different ways that we talk about responsibility. There’s being responsible, taking responsibility, acting responsibly, and having responsibilities. In simple words, responsibility is about doing the things we are supposed to do, and accepting the positive or negative outcomes of our actions.
A responsible person is one who accepts the results of the decisions he or she makes.
They accept the consequences of his or her own actions and decisions. They do not blame it on the solar system or others. They comply with the negative consequences of his or her actions.
But you have probably come across those individuals, narcissists, who never ever hold themselves accountable for the things they have done. BUT however easy it may seem to constantly use and blame others, it will all come back to kick you in the ass. So why is it important to be responsible?
Responsibility allows you to create principles, morals and helps you to lead your best life. It can help you achieve your goals and objectives. It helps us to be more honest and to keep our promises.
But remember, being responsible person requires effort and a commitment. Start by:
**Not Blaming others & making excuses
The truth is that when we don't do something it's OUR own fault.
Blaming other people for your actions or lack of action, might temporarily make you feel better, but it will not last.
To become a more responsible and successful person, you need to stop making excuses and blaming others. It's called personal accountability for your own actions and being willing to admit YOU are the problem, no one else.
If you are not responsible you can be. Responsibility is a muscle you have to work out again and again until it becomes routine in your life.
It should be quality that you have developed over time that makes things run in a more efficient and organized manner, and enables you to be the best version of yourself.
Responsible people seem to have a magic ability to stick to their plans. If they want to get up earlier, they do. If they plan to save money, it actually happens. But even more impressively, they have the ability to say no to something they can't commit to — and that's just about as responsible as it gets.
They keep their cool, and don't let their anger or jealousy get out of hand.
They know that complaining doesn't really get them anywhere. In fact, it's kind of pointless. "Complainers are usually the people who talk too much and do nothing.
There's something very brave about coolly admitting your mistakes. And that's just what responsible people do. The moment they realize something went wrong, or they screwed up, they own up to it. If you do the same, people (bosses, friends, etc.) are much less likely to get mad, and more likely to work with you to fix the issue and trust you. When the people around us see that we are honest, they lean towards trusting us.
Start now by teaching YOURSELF, you kids and grandkids how important being a responsible human being is.
**I will be right back with Ahron, Joke and fact of the day!
**Joke of the day:
A man leaves home, makes three left turns, and is on his way back home when he notices two men in masks waiting for him.
Who are they? They’re the catcher and umpire.
Why did the Braves hire a baker?
They needed a new batter.
**Fact of the day:
On this day is sports history:
1928 NY Giants future Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Carl Hubbell registers first MLB victory, a 4-0 shutout of Philadelphia Phillies at the Polo Grounds, NYC
- We will start with Bronco's play the Cardinals tonight at 8pm.
- Bronco's 7k September 3rd Proceeds will benefit the National Sports Center for the Disabled, I am registered, this will be our fourth Broncos 7k.
- Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has brought in some interesting new rules ahead of his first season in charge.
Before Denver's first preseason game on Friday, Payton has decided that after the starters are pulled, they are not allowed to wear sunglasses, bucket hats, remove their uniforms, or do mid-game interviews.
I don't want to see 10 guys on the field. I don't want to see uniforms off after we're done playing, sunglasses on, Gilligan hats on, interviews during the game. That's what I don't want to see,' said Payton.
Payton has long been known as a disciplinarian and is looking to change the culture that was instilled last season under former head coach Nathaniel Hackett.
Following his comments Payton was called out by Jets offensive lineman and former Bronco Billy Turner on Instagram.
'Seems like someone started training camp and is trying to soften the blow after realizing what he's in for this season. F***ing Bum,' Turner said in a post on his Instagram story underneath Payton's words.
Turner started in seven of the eight games he played for Denver last season. He also played under Hackett in Green Bay when Hackett was the team's OC.
Denver and New York will face off in Week 5 of the regular season.
Here is the thing. This coach answer a question in regards to last year season, and he has to apologize and this player, a current player can get away with making that comment?? Double freaking standards.
Broncos worked out two players on Wednesday
The Denver Broncos brought in a pair of wide receivers for workouts on Wednesday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.
The Broncos hosted Ra’Shaun Henry and J.J. Koski this week ahead of Friday’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
Henry (6-3, 190 pounds) began his college career at Saint Francis University before later transferring to the University of Virginia. After totaling 41 receptions for 809 yards and seven touchdowns in two seasons (21 games) with the Cavaliers, Henry went undrafted in 2022.
Henry initially signed with the Carolina Panthers as a college free agent and he has since spent time with the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns. He remains a free agent after Wednesday’s workout in Denver.
Koski (6-1, 195 pounds) played college football at Cal Poly and entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. He spent the last three years in L.A., mostly on the practice squad or injured reserve.
Koski appeared in five games during the 2021 season and returned two punts and five kickoffs. In the regular season, he has played exclusively on special teams (47 snaps) in his NFL career so far. At the time of publication, Koski remains a free agent.
