Today's word of the day is   " loyal "

//:  giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution

What is the meaning of loyalty?

When you ‘google’ the word loyal, the definition is ‘giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution’. Loyalty is genuinely having their best interests at heart and ensuring that relationship is re-cip-rocal.

Loyalty is such a powerful thing.  If we look at life as a story, we want the characters near and dear to us to be ones that we can trust.

So why is loyatly so important?

On a personal level, loyalty stands for commitment & dedication to another allowing respect & trust to flourish. It is important in both our personal & business lives.  It is valuable because it allows us to take the risk of predicting the actions & behavior of the people we trust.

Someone who is loyal is reliable and always true, like your trusty dog.

So if we see ourselves like Batman, we want a Robin. Pebbles and Bamm Bamm.  Kirk and Spock. Bond and moneypenny.  Not a sidekick but loyal, trusted souls. (Hard to find these days.)

Loyalty, to most, is knowing someone has your best interests at heart, DOESN'T mean just agreeing with you because you are friends or family.

A loyal partner is going to be honest with you, even when it hurts one or both of you to do so.

So see, When you are loyal you have the ability to put others before yourself.  But in doing so, you must always maintain healthy boundaries with those around you so you can be loyal to them in a productive way.

For some people, they remain in relationships that no longer serve them. In these instances, their sense of loyalty can cause them to become exploited or abused. While loyalty is an important trait, it should not be used against someone.

It can be hard for someone who is loyal to recognize when they are being manipulated by someone they love. It can be helpful to get an outside perspective from a friend, family, someone who has your best interest at heart.  That is what happened with me.  I actually started to see these things BUT loyalty keep me from moving on, and being afraid that this relationship would dissolve, which it did.

So, Remember that loyalty is a trait that you can cultivate in your life.

Show your appreciation

Be supportive

Maintain their confidence

Keep your promises

Be honest

Act in others best interests

Address problems within the relationship

Always remember that you are worthy of love, respect and loyalty.  And remember if someone leaves you it's ok, there is someone you deserve right around the corner.

The scary clown?? What the hell?  They just scared me into not letting my water go down the drain.  There is a big ass spot that scary clown can come out behind me.

Some fun facts you may not know about Maddie? Aside from being a military child from Colorado, the small baby has a lot of hobbies and interests. For example, she loves trying new tasty food, has a blast taking swimming/music lessons and enjoys going on hikes with her mom and dad.
