Today is October 16th, 2023. On todays show:
We celebrated Austin's birthday.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "hope"
//: a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen:
**Quote of the day:
"God puts rainbows in the clouds so that each of us - in the dreariest and most dreaded moments - can SEE A POSSIBILITY OF HOPE." - Maya Angelou
Hope
What are its benefits on mental and physical health? And Can hope make you more resilient to adversity and help you live happier?
In general, hope is a positive wish for things to improve and a positive expectation for a better future. The belief that something good will happen.
Hope gives us a reason to keep fighting while trusting that better days will come, despite the uncertain nature of our lives.
Hope reminds you that things will get better. Just by taking the necessary steps, however small, to move towards the things we have a strong belief in.
Hope is so important because It helps us to cope with difficult times, achieve our goals, and live a more fulfilling life and reduce the risk of mental despair.
Let's break it down:
- Coping with difficult times: Hope helps keep you motivated and positive when facing challenges.
It can also help you find meaning in your experiences and be less likely to give up in the face of difficulty.
High-hope people have been shown to cope better with injuries, severe arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and even cancer.
- Help achieving goals: Hope helps you set realistic goals and work towards achieving them. It also helps you continue when you are faced with setbacks.
- Living a more fulfilling life: Hope can help us find happiness in life while struggling with adversity.
- Mental Despair: It has been shown that people with low hope are more likely to experience anxiety and depression to name a few. And it is the opposite for those who have hope. They have higher levels of happiness and well-being.
Having hope is an essential part of being human. It gives us the motivation to create a better future. It allows us to look beyond what exists, and find potential and promise in what lies ahead.
Hope is a way of thinking or state of being. Which means that hope can be taught. It involves taking action toward a goal. It involves optimism, motivation and strategy. With practice, you can develop a hopeful attitude which will improve your mental and physical health.
Here is a little something to remind you what hope means:
H - Having faith
O - Optimism despite the odds
P - Perseverance through pain
E - Everything will work out in the end
If you start to lose hope, just remember that you are not alone.
You got this! I believe in you!!
I will be right back with some Motivational Stories, This is the time in the show if you have a positive story you would like to share, you are welcome to call in.

**Fact of the day:
The universe is full of pointless but endlessly amusing tidbits about life, nature, and everything in between. Here is one of them.
- Tonic water glows a fluorescent blue color in UV light. This is because of quinine, the substance responsible for tonic water's iconic bitter taste. The quinine absorbs the fluorescent light, then releases it, which creates the glowing effect.
So, I looked up quinine and it can be good and bad for you. I am sure the amounts in the tonic water are not that bad for you, but here is what I found out.
