Today is Friday August 16th, I am your host, Dena Jo coming to you LIVE from the "DJ PEBBLES" Studios, located in the mile high city, colorful Colorado, Welcome to the program. So grateful to have you with us today.
On today's show:
Have a lot to go over today, today is FRI-YAY!, I will do the word of the day, Music segment will be , so let's get at it…
**Currently in Denver it is 58 and sunny, Expect sunny skies. The high will be 91°.
**I like to start the show with the word of the day & quote of the day. Spreading knowledge is a powerful way of adding value to the world.
So let's go!
Today's word of the day is "Verbal Economics"
//: The concept of verbal economics emphasizes that our words have value, much like money. The way we choose and use our words can significantly impact our interactions and outcomes. This idea is rooted in the belief that words can either build or destroy, depending on how they are used.
**Quote of the day:

Before you speak…THINK:
T - Is it true?
H - Is it helpful?
I - Is it inspiring?
N - Is it necessary?
K - Is it kind?
Choosing words wisely can help in:
Building Trust: Thoughtful and kind words can foster trust and strengthen relationships.
Avoiding Misunderstandings: Clear and precise language can prevent confusion and misinterpretation.
Enhancing Persuasion: Well-chosen words can be more persuasive and impactful in arguments or discussions.
Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, in his book “Words That Hurt, Words That Heal,” discusses the profound impact words can have on our lives and relationships. He suggests that monitoring our speech and striving to use words that uplift rather than harm can lead to more meaningful and positive interactions.
Even today, the advice to “choose your words wisely” is more important than ever. In our fast-paced world of instant messages and quick conversations, it’s easy to forget how powerful our words can be. Just one word can build bridges or burn them down in our relationships.
More than just a catchy phrase, choosing your words wisely is a skill and an art that we often overlook in daily communication. We’ve all heard the saying “think before you speak,” but what does it really mean and why is it so important?
words are more than just sounds; they carry our intentions, emotions, and influence how others perceive us.
They can mend hearts and build bridges, or leave scars that linger. They matter. We’ve all felt the sting of regret after saying something out of line, knowing it hurt someone. That’s when the importance of choosing our words wisely truly hits home.
The first thing you can do is PAUSE AND REFELECT BEFORE SPEAKING. It is easy to say something we later regret in the heat of the moment. By taking a moment, hour or even a day to think about it, gather your thoughts & think about how your thoughts might affect the other person, will save you from having to come back and apologize.
Secondly, listen actively and respond again, thoughtfully.
Thirdly, If you think of your words like currency, you do not want to loose money on just spewing out words. You become rich by saving your words, listening, and speaking kind, choosing words that get your point across while uplifting.
You got this…I believe in you!
