Today is January 22nd, on today's show:
**I like to start the show with the word of the day & quote of the day. You may need these words of encouragement to brighten your day. Spreading knowledge is a powerful way of adding value to the world.
So let's go!
Today's word of the day is "hate/hatred"
//:hate: feel intense or passionate dislike for (someone):
Hatred: hatred is hate that you never let go of. You stew and fester over the hate you have that now it has become "extreme dislike and disgust'.
**Quotes**
"Hatred makes you weak where else love makes you vulnerable there's a difference." - quotes snydie
"Don't worry about the haters….They are just angry because the truth you speak contradicts the lie they live." -
Are you full of hate or hatred?
It starts with anger, jealousy or insecurity. It has been described as the most destructive phenomenon in human history. Hate/Hatred. The distraction from the hater not dealing with inner pain.
You are not born with hatred in your heart. It is an emotion learned over time. Hatred tends to emerge as a learned emotion that flourishes in the absence of compassion.
People might begin to hate another person when they:
- are envious or want what the other person has.
- Have contempt for another person and believe they are inferior.
- Learned hatred from parents, their friends and social groups.
- They "feel" humiliated or mistreated by another person
If you leave your hate unchecked, it will intensify from intolerance to a pure hatred. Hate eliminates that ability to show empathic concern for the injustice done to another.
Hate numbs the guilt and shame that you should feel for your shitty behavior. Most importantly, it eliminates your ability to understand why you feel the hatred and how to eliminate it, by learning to understand why you feel the hatred in the first place.
It is shown in many ways depending on your personality. Many people show hatred towards someone by attacking them verbally, calling them names. Insulting them to others or make disparaging remarks about them.
They also show aggressiveness, anger, disgust, or retaliation against that person.
One of the reasons why hatred is the most destructive phenomenon in human history is the fact that the hater likes to enlist recruits into his army of hate. People who hate think, feel and behave from an "in-group" versus an "out-group" mentality.
These newly enlisted recruits themselves have no issue with the hated BUT the hater is like a child who cannot control their anger and disappointment, and gets others involved just to feel better about their decision to hate. This in turn will make the initial feelings of hatred even more intense and long lasting.
When a person chooses (Yes it is a choice) to hate you, they see you doing something that they want to do but cannot on their own, they may try to stop you, slow you down by trying to get others to be against you. This is because watching you succeed on your own, without the leching off others, makes them feel inferior, insecure and unworthy.
They therefore, criticize you, gossip about you, ridicule you, laugh at you, anything to try to hinder your progress.
Remember how I said on Friday about self-centered, narcissistic people how they want to compete?
When the hater decides to start involving recruits to their "hate" group, anyone who does not belong is a threat, it has been like that for thousands of years.
Hatred breeds more hate. When you are letting other people harbor the hate YOU have, YOU and only YOU have decided to create a endless cycle of hate.
There is a Native American anecdote that says: A grandfather talking to his young grandson tells the boy he has two wolves inside of him, struggling with each other. The first is the wolf of peace, love and kindness. The other is the wolf of fear, greed and hatred. "Which wolf will win, grandfather?" asks the young boy. "Whichever one you feed" he replies.
The more you hold onto hatred, the more likely it will end up burning you. AND the more you feed it, the stronger it will become.
I read an article that said to look at hate in a different way,
The "H" stands for Healing
The "A" stands for Aggressive
The "T" stands for Thoughts
And the "E" stands for Emotionally
Consider the following steps:
- first learning meditation is a first great step. It is not easy but well worth it.
- when you feel hateful thoughts, stop, take a deep breath, let it out very slowly, repeat
- consciously choose to challenge your "irrational" hateful thoughts
- look inward as to why "YOU" can not let go
REMEMBER -"Nothing turns to hate so bitter…as what once was love." - Laurell K. Hamilton
YOU GOT THIS…I BELIEVE IN YOU!
