**OK, listen people, are you paying attention, The Dena Jo Podcast has a special announcement…
Since the holiday season is now among us, I wanted to do a new holiday contest.
Get your creativeness, glue guns, bom bomms and yarn out or just go buy one, it is time for "The Dena Jo Ugly Sweater Contest!"
This gives you a whole lot of time to make or buy an ugly sweater!
Ugly sweater pictures will need to be into me by December 11th (I will get that information for were to send it to.) and I will announce the winner on Friday the 15th.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " laughter "
//: the action or sound of laughing
**Quote of the Day
"Laugh my friend, for laughter ignites a fire within the pit of your belly and awakens your being." - Stella McCartney
"If you can laugh in the face of adversity, you are bullet-proof." - Ricky Gervais
Ahhh, laughter. The most contagious of all emotional experiences.
It can be triggered by embarrassment and other social discomforts or of course when we are happy.
Laughter has so many health benefits.
A hearty chuckle releases endorphins, feel-good neurotransmitters that have an effect similar to narcotics, AND endorphins are part of the reason laughing is so contagious. It helps increase blood flow and improve mental and physical resilience.
In todays world, we do not make much effort to find cheer and laughter, though we should. We're too busy, too cynical or too grumpy!! Yet simple laughter can make life feel more manageable by masking pain, sharpening your ability to remember things and get you through your daily grind.
Here are a few more facts on laughter:
- Laughter bonds people through prosocial behavior
- It's a contagion
- Women laugh 126 percent more than men
- Mating would be nowhere without it
- Men want to generate laughter and they need women who will laugh
- Women are commonly laughter appreciators
With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health. One of the best things, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use.
Think about it. As children, we used to laugh hundreds of times a day, but as adults, life tends to be more serious and laughter more infrequent. But by seeking out more opportunities for humor and laughter, you can improve your emotional health, strengthen your relationships, and find greater happiness - AND even add years to your life!!
You got this, laugh often! I believe in you!!

**I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " trustworthy "
//: able to be relied on as honest or truthful:
**Quote of the day:
"When you fully trust someone without any doubt, you finally get one of two results:
- a person for life OR
a lesson for life."
What do you personally think being trustworthy is?
Trustworthiness is such an important quality to have in both personal and professional settings. It shows that you have strong moral values and that you are someone who can be counted on.
Being trustworthy means that you are reliable, dependable, and worthy of trust. Trustworthy people will do what they say they will do and never break their promises or let anyone down. They are honest, dependable, and can be trusted completely.
There is a huge importance placed on being a trustworthy person and by surrounding yourself with people you can trust.
Trustworthiness is a sign of integrity. Having trustworthy qualities shows that you can be trusted and have a strong moral values.
You will have better relationships with other people if they know they you can be trusted.
When there is no one to depend on for help in a tough situation, it is always such a blessing to have someone in your life that can be trusted.
At times it can be difficult to spot a trustworthy person. If you know the qualities of a trustworthy person it can be a bit easier. Just pay attention to some of these qualities of a trustworthy person.
- They follow through on what they say they will do.
- They can be trusted with personal information.
- They are trustworthy with their possessions.
- They are trustworthy in their relationships.
- They do not gossip
- They keep their word
- They never lie or do anything that is not true.
- They keep everything they say and do and value their reputation.
I hope that this has given you some insight on how to better yourself and become the kind of person others can trust implicitly with sensitive information. The world needs more people like you!
You got this! I believe in you!
**Joke of the day:
Question: Why can't you hear a Pterodactyl going to the bathroom?
Answer: Because their "p" is always silent.
**Something to Ponder:
Here is something for you to think about…How do you grow a seedless fruit?

We had to start the show over. Everyone could hear Ahron but not me. So this show does not have an introduction....Welcome to TDJP!**Joke of the day

**Here is Dena Jo's thought of the day for you to ponder:
Did you know
Clapping is just hitting yourself because you like something
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "con·sid·er·ate"
//: careful not to cause inconvenience or hurt to others:
**Quote of the day:
"Stop being considerate in situations where you aren’t considered."
and
"Be someone kind, and considerate, and you will be admired."
All this week I have had word of the day, Altruism, generosity and now considerate.
Being considerate of others is to think about them, consider them and treat them with compassion and kindness. Considerate people choose to see the world beyond themselves. Their compassion for others makes them easy to connect with. It is easy also because they are very authentic and very humble.
There are many people who love living a life for the greater good of others and serving people first.
Being considerate is, I think, one of the most underrated values of this generation. It is a lost art. If you look around from driving, to being at the store etc…all you can see is how we have become a "Me, me, me," generation.
Don't fret! You are never too old to change or teach your children how to have compassion. In fact, Thanksgiving and Christmas time are a great way, to start to show others compassion. Here are some qualities of a considerate person:
- Learn to listen intently
When someone shares a story or ideas with you, it means that they value your input, so LISTEN!! Show them that you are interested by listening. Most of the time we are not listening, and we are just thinking about what our response will be. Just listen.
- Practice your honesty with a bit of sensitivity
People who are considerate think their words through. Well, it is not good to lie…it is also best to practice your response with being sensitive to the other persons situation.
Yes, they are coming to you for a honest response BUT know who you are listening to and their situation. It is so easy to offend others with the wrong words.
We have to remember that our words have the power to wound or uplift. You can be right, and completely wrong in how you say things.
- Being empathic before judging
Being a person who forms a opinion without seeing the whole picture (both good and bad details, or both sides) is just plain immature.
Sometimes when you are in the heat of the moment, it is really hard to understand what another person might be going through. Try not to jump to any conclusions.
- They apologize when they have done something wrong
We have to admit that It is difficult to say "I'm sorry," which by the way is 100% pride. Being able to admit your mistakes and know how it might have affected another person are your strengths!
Consideration is simply thoughtfulness in action. So be thoughtful. Our minds can be trained to think "Less me, more others."
You will never lose by being more mindful of how the people around you feel.
What can you do to be a kinder and more thoughtful version of yourself??
I believe in you! You got this!!

Wednesday Fun Day - Start your day with a little sugar!! #187
Thursday Oct 26, 2023
Thursday Oct 26, 2023
Today is Wednesday October 25th, On today's show:
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "generosity "
//: the quality of being kind and generous:
**Quote of the day:
"Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out." - Frank A. clark
Generosity
According to Wikipedia, Generosity is regarded as a virtue by various world religions and philosophies and is often celebrated in cultural and religious ceremonies. So why are some of us not generous and for some it comes as a second nature?
I know that in the my core, I have a generous spirit. It fulfills me to be generous. That is the gift to me, being able to either help someone in some way or when I can send a gift or card to just show I care.
I think as humans we recognize that generosity is more admirable than greed.
The fact that greed is so common in today, and people really do not even think twice. It is a way of life, greed that so many want to have. But, generosity is more original, more authentic, more humane and more beautiful than greed could ever be.
Some qualities of a generous person are:
ALTRUISM - which I talked about on Motivational Monday. Generous people are altruistic - they give without hopes of receiving in return.
OPTIMISM - Even though the world is not a perfect place, generous people do not stop giving.
KIND - I think kindness and being generous USUALLY if it authentic, go hand in hand.
Generosity has the tendency to have the a ripple effect. When someone else sees someone do something kind or generous, it actually makes them more likely to be generous themselves. And did you know that positive emotions like gratitude joy, or awe make us more likely to give??
The University of Notre Dame's Science of Generosity Project defines generosity as "the virtue of giving good things to others freely and abundantly."
So if you are not normally a giving person, try cultivating an attitude of generosity AND if you are a generous person, please do not let the world change your generosity.
You got this! I believe in you.
I will be right back with TRENDING:
*Trending:
- Ok what in the hells bells is up with guys, males, in their late 20's early 30's wearing pearl necklaces? Ok get your mind our of the gutter…I am talking a real pearl necklace?? What is going on?? I do not get it. I am trying to be politically correct but these guys look stupid! I do not like that word but they look stupid. That is just my opinion. So I googled it. And there is a huge article about it. And it shows a picture of this guy who is wearing more of a rosary with pearls NOT a tight choker pearl necklace. Here is what it says.
There are several reasons why men are now wearing pearl necklaces. One of the main factors is the changing attitudes towards gender norms and stereotypes. Men are no longer confined to a narrow definition of masculinity and are now free to express themselves through fashion and accessories.
Another reason behind the trend is the desire for something unique and different. With so many men wearing the same types of jewelry, pearl necklaces offer a refreshing change. They are elegant and sophisticated, yet have a subtle edginess that sets them apart from traditional men's accessories.
OK EBIKE MIKE! I think you need to get your self a pearl necklace!! Hahaha

Motivational Monday! Start your day with a little sugar!! #186
Monday Oct 23, 2023
Monday Oct 23, 2023
Today is Monday October 23rd, on today's show was joined by my close friend, and owner of Podbean Podcast Nation, Mr. BP with facts about Weird Al. Thank you for all you are doing to help us BP.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "al·tru·ism"
//: the belief in or practice of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others:
**Quote of the day:
"Let us try to teach generosity and altruism, because we are born selfish." - Richard Dawkins
"The root of happiness is altruism - the wish to be of service to others." - Dalai Lama
Do you cultivate a selfless behavior?
Altruism is the unselfish concern for other people - doing things simply out of a desire to help, not because you feel obligated to out of duty, or loyalty. It involves acting out of concern for the well-being of others, even though there is also reciprocal altruism that involves doing something to get something in return.
Everyday life is filled with small acts of altruism, from holding the door open for a stranger (do you teach your boys to do this? I did. Ahron opens doors for me.) Giving money to people in need. You have heard of stories of grander cases of altruism, such as a someone diving into an icy river to rescue a drowning stranger or a donor giving a organ to someone they do not know.
Here are some examples of pure altruism:
- Doing something to help another person with no expectation of something in return
- Forgoing things that may bring personal benefits if they create costs for others
- Helping someone despite personal costs or risks
- Sharing resources even in the face of scarcity
- Showing concern for someone else's well-being
It also means not doing something for reasons such as guilt, obligation, or duty.
Altruism has a wide range of benefits:
- Better Health: example - People who volunteer have better overall health, and regularly engaging in helping behaviors is linked to a significantly lower mortality.
- Better mental well -being: Doing good things for other people can make you feel good about yourself and the world. It has been shown that people experience increased happiness after doing good things for others.
- Better romantic relationships: Being kind and compassionate can also lead to a better relationship with your partner, as kindness is one of the most important qualities that people across all cultures seek in a romantic partner.
Some people Altruistic tendencies comes naturally, but there are things you can do to help foster helpful behaviors in yourself and others. Here are just a few you can try to kick your altruism up a knot:
- Look to inspirational people who engage in altruistic acts. Seeing others work to actively improve the lives of other individuals can inspire you to be more altruistic in your own life.
- Have more empathy for others. Consider how you would feel in that situation, and think about things that you can do to help make a difference.
- If you have to, set a goal to perform random acts of kindness for others. Fix a meal for someone, help a friend, donate, or spend time volunteering.
If we were to witness a fall, a car accident, or a child about to step into oncoming traffic, there is no time to consciously deliberate the gain we might receive, we just act.
We wish to stop, or at least reduce, harm.
Perhaps our reaction, while automatic, suggests some degree of delayed reciprocal altruism, in the hope that if one of our loved ones were in danger, someone would step in, without thought for their safety.
Invest in daily and longer term altruism, and know the difference it can make.
Despite these potential problems, altruism is generally a positive force in the world, and it's a skill worth developing.
You've got this! I believe in you.
I will be right back with some Motivational Stories, This is the time in the show if you have a positive story you would like to share, you are welcome to call in.
**Motivational Stories
Every day, countless events take place that make our world a bit brighter — we just usually hear about the negative.

**Joke of the day OR Something to Ponder:
Question - What do you call a fat jack-o-lantern?
Answer - "A plump-kin."
Q: Why was the jack-o’-lantern afraid to cross the road?
A: He had no guts.
Now something for you to Ponder:
Did ya know…Onion rings are vegetable donuts
**Trending:
- Ok this is not meant to scare anyone but it is time to be diligent and know your surroundings. Honestly, this day in age we should NEVER EVER put your guard down. We are at red warning US State Department has issued a worldwide caution alert for all US citizens worldwide, advising them to “exercise increased caution” due to “increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests”
- Know your surroundings, were your exit spots are. If you see something weird and you have that feeling in your stomach, intuition, do not ignore it.
I came into the end of an interview with this VIP that was involved with US Department and stated we should be more concerned here in the states because of all the individuals we have recently let in. Just be aware. Man I hate having to try to continue to explain this to Ahron. I cannot imagine having children in these days we are living in.

Wednesday Fun Day - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#185
Thursday Oct 19, 2023
Thursday Oct 19, 2023
Today is October 18th 2023, On today's show during the music segment, was joined by South Oz Man whom joined in on a couple of the songs from the Rob Zombie's Halloween II, playing the harmonica.
Keep Russ with Outside of Normal and his daughter, in your thoughts and prayers. they are fighting something and do not feel good. Thank y'all.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "successful""
//: having achieved popularity, profit, or distinction:
**Quote of the day:
"Push yourself, because no one else is going to do it for you."
What does it mean to be successful?
How do you define success?
Is it wealth? Fame? Or happiness?
Many of you are chasing career titles, money, or social status - yet most of the time you do not feel successful, even when we get those things.
That is because you can only measure success in your life when you know what makes you happy and helps you find purpose.
Every person has its own idea of what success means. It depends on our upbringing, our present situation, and how we see the world around us. It depends on the individual and one size does not fit all!
Success is something that you have to define yourself. No one can do it for you.
Here are just some ideas of success:
Success can be achieved when you try your best in all aspects of everything you do, even if that doesn't lead to big results. If you have done your best, feel proud of how far you have come. BTW…Do not think being a parent is not important because you do not get paid to do it. Just because you get paid does not make you successful. Getting up every time your child is sick, going to school events, making sure they have enough to eat, clothes to wear and a roof over their heads…YOU ARE VERY SUCCESSFUL!
Back to the list.
- Set some attainable goals:
Be realistic when setting goals. Success does not come from setting abstract goals.
SMART Goals :
- Specific
- Measurable
- Attainable
- Relevant
- Time-Bound
- Success is understanding the difference between needs and wants.
When you come to the time in your life when you understand the difference between your needs and wants and just the importance of family and friends.
- Success is learning to take care of yourself.
Self-care is essential if you want to have an impact on the world around you. I was always taught just the opposite. Put other 1st and if there is anything left over than take care of yourself. If you do not take care of yourself then you will not be around very long to take care of others.
- Success is knowing your life is filled with abundance.
Love, health, family, friends. Recognizing all you have is a step to feeling grateful for all life has given us.
- Successful people choose their battles wisely! This is important!! Think about this when you feel a need to respond in any given situation. Is your response going to help you be successful? Not only that but is that response going to uplift or tear down?
Lastly, It is never too late to write your success story. Many people think they are already too old to succeed.
Consider some facts:
- At age 23, Oprah had just been fired from her first broadcasting job.
- At age 30, Jonah Peretti was teaching middle schoolers before founding his billion-dollar media companies, Buzzfeed and The Huffington Post.
- At age 40, Stan Lee finally achieved success with Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and X-Men comics.
- At age 50, Julia Child wrote her first cookbook.
- At age 62, Kernel Sanders’ fried chicken business KFC finally succeeded.
- At age 77, Nelson Mandela became South Africa’s president after spending 27 years in jail.
If we can learn anything from these people who succeed later in life, is this: It has no dead line.
So sit down, write what is important to you, your soul and peace, and aim for those goals. That is success.
I believe in you! You got this!
**Joke of the day:
Question: Why is the graveyard the best place for authors to write?
Answer: Because there are so many plots.
- Here is your deep thought for you to ponder:
If a cow laughed, would milk come out of its nose?

Thursday Oct 19, 2023
Today is October 16th, 2023. On todays show:
We celebrated Austin's birthday.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "hope"
//: a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen:
**Quote of the day:
"God puts rainbows in the clouds so that each of us - in the dreariest and most dreaded moments - can SEE A POSSIBILITY OF HOPE." - Maya Angelou
Hope
What are its benefits on mental and physical health? And Can hope make you more resilient to adversity and help you live happier?
In general, hope is a positive wish for things to improve and a positive expectation for a better future. The belief that something good will happen.
Hope gives us a reason to keep fighting while trusting that better days will come, despite the uncertain nature of our lives.
Hope reminds you that things will get better. Just by taking the necessary steps, however small, to move towards the things we have a strong belief in.
Hope is so important because It helps us to cope with difficult times, achieve our goals, and live a more fulfilling life and reduce the risk of mental despair.
Let's break it down:
- Coping with difficult times: Hope helps keep you motivated and positive when facing challenges.
It can also help you find meaning in your experiences and be less likely to give up in the face of difficulty.
High-hope people have been shown to cope better with injuries, severe arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and even cancer.
- Help achieving goals: Hope helps you set realistic goals and work towards achieving them. It also helps you continue when you are faced with setbacks.
- Living a more fulfilling life: Hope can help us find happiness in life while struggling with adversity.
- Mental Despair: It has been shown that people with low hope are more likely to experience anxiety and depression to name a few. And it is the opposite for those who have hope. They have higher levels of happiness and well-being.
Having hope is an essential part of being human. It gives us the motivation to create a better future. It allows us to look beyond what exists, and find potential and promise in what lies ahead.
Hope is a way of thinking or state of being. Which means that hope can be taught. It involves taking action toward a goal. It involves optimism, motivation and strategy. With practice, you can develop a hopeful attitude which will improve your mental and physical health.
Here is a little something to remind you what hope means:
H - Having faith
O - Optimism despite the odds
P - Perseverance through pain
E - Everything will work out in the end
If you start to lose hope, just remember that you are not alone.
You got this! I believe in you!!
I will be right back with some Motivational Stories, This is the time in the show if you have a positive story you would like to share, you are welcome to call in.
**Motivational Stories

**Fact of the day:
The universe is full of pointless but endlessly amusing tidbits about life, nature, and everything in between. Here is one of them.
- Tonic water glows a fluorescent blue color in UV light. This is because of quinine, the substance responsible for tonic water's iconic bitter taste. The quinine absorbs the fluorescent light, then releases it, which creates the glowing effect.
So, I looked up quinine and it can be good and bad for you. I am sure the amounts in the tonic water are not that bad for you, but here is what I found out.
