Motivational Monday - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#164

Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
Today is Monday August 21st. On today show:
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN AWORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "Adversity"
//: difficulties; misfortune:
**Quote of the day:
"Sometimes our need to grow is achieved better by suffering and adversity than by comfort and tranquility." - Dallin H. Oaks
It is fact of life that difficult times will happen. Adversity, unfortunately, is a part of life whether we like it or not. We all will encounter challenges, struggles and difficulties, and there is nothing fun about it.
When we are faced with a crisis, it can be difficult in the moment to imagine the experience will eventually lead to some type of growth. While there are certain people that are able to easily deal with hardships in their lives, some others break down at the first sign of difficulty.
I will be reading a inspiring story later about a young man and what he is overcoming in order to succeed in the lifting world.
There was a research done that shows that past adversity can help you persevere in the face of current stress. During this research 2,300 people were asked to report their lifetime exposure to a list of negative events. What was discovered is that people who experience adversity reported better mental health and well-being and higher life satisfaction over time compared to those with no history of adversity.
That is why the term can means many different things to different people.
For instance a person suffering a debilitating injury and learns to walk again is in a far different situation than one who repeatedly fails at work. They are not comparable. In either case, each person could choose to be a victim or come up and face that particularly daunting scenario.
Going through these past struggles can help you become more resilient.
Have you ever heard of PTG - post-traumatic growth? It is the experience of positive change after going through a significantly stressful event. Here is what has been found that people tend to report after experiencing a significantly stressful event:
A renewed appreciation for life
Enhanced personal strength
Stronger, more meaningful relationships
Spiritual growth
And recognizing new paths for their lives
This defiantly does not mean that people emerge unscathed from their experience. Many are still dealing with the pain, they just do not bath in it.
Going through adverse times helps you build self-efficacy/confidence in your ability to overcome obstacles and challenges and succeed. You went through an unpleasant experience and survived!
If you are able to think about stress more like challenge and less like a threat, then you will experience less depression and anxiety and higher levels of energy, and life satisfaction.
If your world feels out of control right now and your stress levels are at an all-time high, know that those past struggles, even the small ones, have given you some ability to manage this current one, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.
Adversity never looks pretty - some days you just have to go knee deep through the crap as best as you can. In the end, it is how we all rise to the occasion and carry out the necessary steps so we can move forward.
Just remember, as long as you are up and trying (and not wallowing in being the victim) you are doing the best you can at the moment.
Keep trudging through, I believe in you!
I will be right back with so Motivational Stories:
**Motivational Stories
Every day, countless events take place that make our world a bit brighter — we just usually hear about the negative. What went right this past week
- I wanted to start by letting y'all know about this short film that an acquaintance of mine, Jeffrey Petterson made about the difference in how a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome is given. It is only 3 mins and 21 seconds long, letting others know that it is more than a diagnosis. I will share this video on The Dena Jo Facebook Page. I hope y'all can see it and share it. That being said, people with Down syndrome and other disabilities can do anything a so called normal person can do. I tell you all the time how far my son, Ahron has come with having Autism. What a great worker he is (actually better than most normal people his age). I say all this because the next story fits right in.

Today is Friday August 18th. On today's show:
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "respectful"
//: feeling or showing deference and respect
**Quote of the day:
"Follow the three R's:
- Repect for self
- Respect for others
- Responsibility for all your actions.
Dalai Lama XIV
Haven’t we all heard that respect is earned? It cannot be given freely and you have to work hard to achieve it in life.
Understanding that kindness and courtesy are the basics of respect and apply them in your daily life if you consider yourself a reasonable and respectful human being. Once you stop focusing on your own self and focus on others you will automatically inspire change as it is an important way to be respectful.
Make other individuals comfortable by listening attentively to them. Do not look bored and out of sorts.
Think before you speak . If you are looking for ways to be respectful you need to grasp the importance of speaking at the right time.
Show patience in dealing with other people. Sometimes you might come across people who are rude and disrespectful. It is a test of your patience, As much as you want to tell them to F off or hurt them back by telling their dirty secrets, do not sink to this level, instead maintain your dignity and calm. Because respectful people do not strike out against others when they think they have been wronged. They do not go after other people and try to bring them in to bring hurt to another. They do not play games!!
Simply put that is disrespect. The lack of regard for someone else’s rights, feelings, dignity, wishes, or well-being. And damn, there are sooooo many in this world and on this platform.
They are loyal, even when it is tough to do so. They stand behind those with whom they have made true relationships with and will not betray them.
There is a quote by Zig Ziglar that says, "You will get all you want in life if you help enough people get what they want.”
I have lived that quote and have been hurt deeply doing so. It will happen. You will always come across selfish, narcissistic people, YOU just need to not give up hope and continue to be a respectful, authentic person. I believe in you!

Wednesday Fun Day - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#162
Wednesday Aug 16, 2023
Wednesday Aug 16, 2023
Today is Wednesday August 16th on today's show:
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Well since today is National Authenticity Day,
Today's word of the day authenticity.
//: the quality of being authentic:
**Quote of the day:
"Authenticity is more than speaking; Authenticity is also about doing. Every decision we make says something about who we are." - Simon Sinek
What does it actually mean to be authentic? There are many definitions, but they all usually boil down to having our actions match our words and our words lining up with our beliefs and values. It’s a long-winded way of saying that we are who we truly are without imitating or mimicking someone else. We’re not being who we think we “should” be, but instead, we are showing up as we truly are. Our true selves.
The journey toward authenticity is a lifelong process. Adolescents and young adults' experiment with friends, partners, hobbies, and jobs to identify what feels right for their present and their future. Being authentic involves the ability to understand what motivates oneself. Such accurate self-knowledge can be a double-edged sword, though, if it reveals uncomfortable truths or weaknesses that one would rather not admit.
Being authentic can also put a person at odds with their larger peer group if their emerging perspective is an unpopular one. However, authentic people wouldn’t look to others for approval or surrender to the social pressures of what they should or shouldn't do. The validation they derive from following an internal compass is sufficient for their mental well-being.
Developing authenticity is an ongoing process. To begin, reflect on your values. What changes can you make to live in accordance with those values?
Genuine people share a few key traits. They tend to take time to develop an opinion and speak their mind, respond to internal expectations rather than external ones, and forge a unique path to fulfill their passion and purpose. They aren’t threatened by failure and can admit their faults. They are often less judgmental of others and have strong self-esteem.
Now inauthentic people?
They tend to be defensive and self-deceptive. They also have unrealistic perceptions of reality, looking to others for approval and validation, being judgmental, not thinking things through, not learning from mistakes, and being unable to express emotions clearly or understand their own motivations.
Being authentic requires courage. Revealing your true self could garner disfavor from others. It makes you vulnerable to rejection or betrayal.
But being true to yourself and values in the long run will fill your life with people who really belong in your life. Much love.
You got this!
**Joke of the day: It is also tell a joke day!

Tuesday Aug 15, 2023
Today is Monday August 14th.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " family "
//: a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit:
all the descendants of a common ancestor:
**Quote of the day:
"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life." - Richard Bach
As I read above family is defined by a group of one or more parents and their living together as a unit or descendants of a common ancestor. But is that truly the definition of family?
Family is a term that can have different meanings depending on the context and the perspective of the speaker or writer. It can refer to a specific group of people related by blood, marriage, adoption, or other relationship, who may or may not live together. It can also refer to a social group that maintains the well-being of its members and of society. Some people may consider family as anyone who involves love, regardless of their biological or legal ties.
I believe the true definition of family lies not in blood relations but is measured in the amount of love and respect people hold for each other.
Family can mean your best friends, your pets, anyone who gives you that comforting feeling of familiarity. They are the group of people who you know accepts you for you. You feel comfortable, safe, special and that you and your voice matters with them.
They are the ones who stand by you through thick and thin. They are your support system, and you are theirs.
They have each other's back and are willing to go to the ends of the earth to bring a smile to each other's face. A sense of loyalty, selflessness, love and genuine care and concern for others. Including also being brutally honest when need be.
It is such a beautiful thing! You have a sense of belonging.
In this day and age it is difficult to find people who want the best for you without any ulterior motives. We have all been used by someone who claims to love you, and it hurts.
That’s why once you do find that special person, make sure you fight for them to stay, no matter what. There will be hurdles along the way, huge fights where your relationship may seem not worth it. BUT remember, overcoming these hurdles together will only strengthen your ties. You will know when that relationship is not worth fighting for any more. When your eyes are opened to who your dealing with.
I am not saying that if you have an abusive family member or friend that you keep them in your life because they are close or family. You should never stay in a abusive relationship. YOU are worth so much more than that. Boundaries are everything. That is for another word of the day.
So go out there into the real world and find your chosen family. Those who will stand by you no matter what and will always support you no matter what. But also do not forget where you came from because that is where you will always truly belong.
Be right back with so Motivational Stories:
**Motivational Stories - What went right
Every day, countless events take place that make our world a bit brighter — we just usually hear about the negative.
For the 1st time, scientists have found marine creatures under hydrothermal vents
Marine researchers found a new ecosystem supported by hydrothermal vents deep under the sea. A recent expedition was led by the Schmidt Ocean Institute, with the team traveling to the East Pacific Rise, off of Central America. They dropped an underwater robot more than 8,200 feet, which "overturned chunks of volcanic crust" and discovered "cave systems teeming with worms, snails and chemosynthetic bacteria living in 75 degrees Fahrenheit water," the institute said. "The discovery adds a new dimension to hydrothermal vents, showing that their habitats exist both above and below the seafloor." They also found that there are tube worm-like creatures moving through passages underneath the seafloor, which travel through vent fluid to "colonize new habitats." These discoveries are huge, as scientists are always looking to better understand the deep sea. Finding a new ecosystem is "truly remarkable," Schmidt Ocean Institute Executive Director Jyotika Virmani said in a statement, and "provides fresh evidence that life exists in incredible places."

It’s Fri-YAY Y’all! - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#160

Sunday Aug 13, 2023
Today is Friday August 11th.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is "responsible/ responsibility"
//: being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it:
capable of being trusted
**Quote of the day:
"Nothing will ever change while you point the finger of blame.
Out of responsibility comes possibility." - Lisa Villa Prosen
What is responsibility? We have a few different ways that we talk about responsibility. There’s being responsible, taking responsibility, acting responsibly, and having responsibilities. In simple words, responsibility is about doing the things we are supposed to do, and accepting the positive or negative outcomes of our actions.
A responsible person is one who accepts the results of the decisions he or she makes.
They accept the consequences of his or her own actions and decisions. They do not blame it on the solar system or others. They comply with the negative consequences of his or her actions.
But you have probably come across those individuals, narcissists, who never ever hold themselves accountable for the things they have done. BUT however easy it may seem to constantly use and blame others, it will all come back to kick you in the ass. So why is it important to be responsible?
Responsibility allows you to create principles, morals and helps you to lead your best life. It can help you achieve your goals and objectives. It helps us to be more honest and to keep our promises.
But remember, being responsible person requires effort and a commitment. Start by:
**Not Blaming others & making excuses
The truth is that when we don't do something it's OUR own fault.
Blaming other people for your actions or lack of action, might temporarily make you feel better, but it will not last.
To become a more responsible and successful person, you need to stop making excuses and blaming others. It's called personal accountability for your own actions and being willing to admit YOU are the problem, no one else.
If you are not responsible you can be. Responsibility is a muscle you have to work out again and again until it becomes routine in your life.
It should be quality that you have developed over time that makes things run in a more efficient and organized manner, and enables you to be the best version of yourself.
Responsible people seem to have a magic ability to stick to their plans. If they want to get up earlier, they do. If they plan to save money, it actually happens. But even more impressively, they have the ability to say no to something they can't commit to — and that's just about as responsible as it gets.
They keep their cool, and don't let their anger or jealousy get out of hand.
They know that complaining doesn't really get them anywhere. In fact, it's kind of pointless. "Complainers are usually the people who talk too much and do nothing.
There's something very brave about coolly admitting your mistakes. And that's just what responsible people do. The moment they realize something went wrong, or they screwed up, they own up to it. If you do the same, people (bosses, friends, etc.) are much less likely to get mad, and more likely to work with you to fix the issue and trust you. When the people around us see that we are honest, they lean towards trusting us.
Start now by teaching YOURSELF, you kids and grandkids how important being a responsible human being is.
**I will be right back with Ahron, Joke and fact of the day!
**Joke of the day:
A man leaves home, makes three left turns, and is on his way back home when he notices two men in masks waiting for him.
Who are they? They’re the catcher and umpire.

**Fact of the day:
On this day is sports history:

- We will start with Bronco's play the Cardinals tonight at 8pm.
- Bronco's 7k September 3rd Proceeds will benefit the National Sports Center for the Disabled, I am registered, this will be our fourth Broncos 7k.
- Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has brought in some interesting new rules ahead of his first season in charge.
Before Denver's first preseason game on Friday, Payton has decided that after the starters are pulled, they are not allowed to wear sunglasses, bucket hats, remove their uniforms, or do mid-game interviews.
I don't want to see 10 guys on the field. I don't want to see uniforms off after we're done playing, sunglasses on, Gilligan hats on, interviews during the game. That's what I don't want to see,' said Payton.
Payton has long been known as a disciplinarian and is looking to change the culture that was instilled last season under former head coach Nathaniel Hackett.
Following his comments Payton was called out by Jets offensive lineman and former Bronco Billy Turner on Instagram.
'Seems like someone started training camp and is trying to soften the blow after realizing what he's in for this season. F***ing Bum,' Turner said in a post on his Instagram story underneath Payton's words.
Turner started in seven of the eight games he played for Denver last season. He also played under Hackett in Green Bay when Hackett was the team's OC.
Denver and New York will face off in Week 5 of the regular season.
Here is the thing. This coach answer a question in regards to last year season, and he has to apologize and this player, a current player can get away with making that comment?? Double freaking standards.
Broncos worked out two players on Wednesday
The Denver Broncos brought in a pair of wide receivers for workouts on Wednesday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.
The Broncos hosted Ra’Shaun Henry and J.J. Koski this week ahead of Friday’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
Henry (6-3, 190 pounds) began his college career at Saint Francis University before later transferring to the University of Virginia. After totaling 41 receptions for 809 yards and seven touchdowns in two seasons (21 games) with the Cavaliers, Henry went undrafted in 2022.
Henry initially signed with the Carolina Panthers as a college free agent and he has since spent time with the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns. He remains a free agent after Wednesday’s workout in Denver.
Koski (6-1, 195 pounds) played college football at Cal Poly and entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. He spent the last three years in L.A., mostly on the practice squad or injured reserve.
Koski appeared in five games during the 2021 season and returned two punts and five kickoffs. In the regular season, he has played exclusively on special teams (47 snaps) in his NFL career so far. At the time of publication, Koski remains a free agent.

Wednesday Fun Day - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#159
Wednesday Aug 09, 2023
Wednesday Aug 09, 2023
Today is Wednesday August 9th. On today's show:
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " Empowerment or being self-empowered"
//: the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights:
And be for warn, once you decide that YOU are finally worth growth, becoming stronger and claiming your rights, people who you thought were a big part of your life will split!
**Quote of the day:
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou - I needed to hear that one yesterday
“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” – Steve Maraboli
What does it mean to have empowerment or be self-empowered?
Self-empowerment is the process which leads people to exert greater control over their lives. I have personally done so by starting this podcast.
Self-empowerment in its simplest form means taking charge of your own life through the decisions you make every day. It means not giving away your power by allowing others to make decisions for you..
It also means to take charge of your destiny, make positive choices, and act on them with confidence. It means being aware of your strengths and weaknesses and motivated to learn and achieve. It also means having the confidence to ask for help when you need it and the courage to help others when you can.
When self- empowerment becomes a priority, you’ll feel more confident and focused about the things you hope to achieve. You won’t sweat obstacles or inconveniences because you’ll trust that you have what it takes to overcome them. You’ll understand your strengths and weaknesses and use that information to pursue success on the terms that are right for you. Being self-empowered leads to a happier and more successful life.
So, for the betterment of your life, stop underestimating yourself!!
- Went over 2023 slang words before starting another round of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" and once again Sir Yancey or should we call him Mister Fast Fingers? He is smarter than a fifth grader!
I then played songs from the soundtrack "Dark Shadows." Next week's movie soundtrack will be "Saturday Night Fever."

Motivational Monday - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#158

Monday Aug 07, 2023
Today is Monday August 7th.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " beauty "
//: a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight:
**Quote of the day:
"Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself." - Coco Chanel
AND
"Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and most importantly, a beautiful soul.
TOP SIGNS OF 'REAL BEAUTY'
- Kindness is how you treat and speak to others
- Being honest
- Making others feel more comfortable
- Simply being happy
- Having the ability to laugh at yourself
- Having the courage to stand up for others
- Don't judge others with different looks, beliefs, religions
- Knowing when others need a shoulder to cry on.
- Being prepared to admit you're wrong sometimes or made a mistake
Beauty is often distorted, misunderstood, and shadowed by a wide amount of conflicting pressures. It is something we endlessly strive for, rather than see in the true essence of our happiest moments.
We are all unique humans, with experiences and memories that tie together into a our very own versions of beauty. We are different shapes, sizes, colors, Fathers, mothers, daughters, sons etc.. We are all the lives and change we create - that's beauty.
Our bodies are simply a shell that allows us to radiate these experiences and accomplishments through.
What is beauty?
Beauty isn't a achieving a fake Barbie doll face, or spending hours in the mirror, it isn't the perfect smile, hair, face etc.. Because that is what society tells us is acceptable.
We need to realize that everyone is different! Unique! Everyone is enough and should be enough. Society has given us such high standards for ourselves that we begin to believe them! Not only do we believe them but we start to hate ourselves and envy others.
The pressures of being beautiful is over bearing. And we do all of this work to be what we think is beautiful to be told "you're pretty…but" and the cycle starts all over again.
Beauty is truly not any of those things by themselves. Beauty does not have limits, it does not have a scale, it can not be measured.
Beauty is what is within you! It is your heart! You are worth way more than what society says you are worth.
Let us not be the kind of people who stereotype beauty, rather, let's be the first to define our own beauty. Beauty should be celebrate everyone's own individuality. Our beauty is and should only be defined by us, not what others think. Embrace your those so called imperfections you might have been told you have, they are all a part of you.
So love yourself because YOU are beautiful and YOU are enough!!

We are going to move onto the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
**Today's word of the day is "Failure"
//: an unsuccessful person, enterprise, or thing:
**Quote of the Day
"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again. This time more intelligently." - Henry Ford
"What would you try if there was no chance of failure?"
AND why? Why wait?
Is failure bad, no I do not believe so.
**What exactly does “failure” mean? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines failure as “an omission of occurrence or performance,” “a lack of success,” or “a falling short.” But we’re back to square one — if failure is a lack of success, how do you define success?
Failure and success go hand in hand. You can’t talk about failure without talking about success, and the same is true vice versa. To a lot of people, failure is seen as a lack of success; when really, it’s the perfect counterbalance.
No matter who you are or where you are in life, you’ve experienced failure. There’s been a time when something you tried didn’t work out, when you had a plan and it didn’t materialize, when you gave your all to a situation and the results weren’t what they needed to be.
Everyone has had to overcome personal and business failures. It’s a given. But there’s good news. Failures are not fatal.
The mistakes and bad decisions that may have led you down the wrong path do not have to be your destiny. You have the ability to turn around and head in a new direction. The challenge is not letting your disappointment, blame, anger or bitterness keep you from doing what you need to do to get back on track.
How do you do that?
- Well learn from the lesson.
Ask yourself what you learned from your failures. Pull the lessons out so you can avoid repeating them in the future. Failures can make you smarter. Research shows that your brain actually gets bigger when it’s compiling information about an experience. When you fail, your brain retains the new pathways by taking new information and compiling the takeaways from the trial and error.
- Create new goals.
Goals based on where you want to go, not on where you are now. If you don’t like your current circumstances—in your career, finances, relationships—decide what you want them be and write it down.
Understand that challenge, growth and even failure are almost always required to achieve a goal.
- Be willing to try again.
Failing means you’re taking risks. If you are successful in everything you do, you probably aren’t pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone. By leaning into risks and accepting the possibility of failure, you may find that you identify more creative solutions or greater successes.
So don’t let what happened to you in the past keep you from taking action to create the future you want—and deserve.
You deserve happiness.
