Today is Monday July 31st.
It is Motivational Monday and I have a couple of really sweet stories to tell y'all. 
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
Today's word of the day is " positive or positivity. "
//: consisting of in or characterized by the presence or possession of features or qualities rather than their absence.
 
**Quote of the day:
"Being positive does not mean ignoring the negative.  Being positive means overcoming the negative!"
 
What does being positive or positivity means to you?
Every day we are bombarded with endless stream of bad news courtesy news and social media . 
Let's be real, staying positive can be incredibly difficult in this day and age. 
Constantly hearing the impending doom and gloom is downright exhausting.
Back to the question, what does being positive or positivity mean?
It means being cheerful and hopeful, even when you are in the midst of challenges.  Positive people look for the good in every situation and are very grateful for what they have.
Do not get me wrong, being positive does not mean you never feel negative emotions or struggle with bad thoughts.  Everyone has days when they feel down or discouraged.  The difference is that someone with a typically positive attitude, don't let their negative emotions control them.
They would rather focus on finding solutions instead of dwelling on their problems.
That being said, there are so many benefits to being positive.  Some notable benefits include:
- Better mental well-being.
Positive people tend to have better overall mental health.  They are more resilient in the face of life's challenges.  During difficult times, being more positive can help create a buffer against the negative effects of stress.
-  Increased happiness.  Positivity is also linked to greater happiness.
- Positivity is associated with better physical health. Positive people are less likely to die from cardiovascular problems and live longer than their pessimistic counterparts.
- They have stronger relationships.
Positive people are less likely to have conflicts with others and have healthier, more fulfilling interpersonal relationships.
Fortunately, there are plenty of ways for having infectious positivity that will have you and everyone around you smiling.
- Practicing mindfulness
Practicing mindfulness is as simple as paying attention to how you are feeling, what you are thinking, and considering why, at that moment, you are feeling the way you feel and thinking those particular thoughts.  Once you become a pro at living in the moment, you will find that it helps you stay grounded.
- Finding the funny in life
Being able to find the humor in every aspect of your life, especially during the more challenging and difficult times.  Laughing at yourself when you make a mistake instead of calling yourself and idiot or stupid.
- Surround yourself with positive people
Well of course you might think.  Cutting out toxic people from your life, which can be hard but life changing with the amount of peace you will now have.  Instead surrounding yourself with other happy and positive people, it has a compounding effect.
When people around you complain less, you tend to complain less.  When they laugh, you laugh.  Happiness begets happiness!!
You can learn a lot from positive people.  Seeing how positive people react to hardships and negativity can give you something to aspire too.
Remember, the only person that is holding you back from becoming a more positive person is you! So get out there and make a difference in this world!

It’s Fri-YAY! - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁❤️💕#154

Today is Friday July 28th.  On today's show:
Today's word of the day is   " trustworthy "
//: able to be relied on as honest or truthful:
**Quote of the day:
“Building trust takes long- years, sometimes decades. It takes a second, a word, or a misstep to lose it. Regaining trust takes even longer.”
“People will walk in and walk out of your life, but the one whose footstep made a long lasting impression is the one you should never allow to walk out.”
We all want trustworthy people in our lives.  However, it can be difficult to identify trustworthy people at times. 
So what does it mean to be trustworthy?
It means that you are reliable, dependable, and worthy of trust.  They never break their promises or purposely let anyone down. 
There is a huge importance placed on being a trustworthy person and surrounding yourself by people whom you can trust.
** They are constant across the board. 
Their character stays true during all circumstances.  They do not put on a mask or feel they have to change who they are.
They care about you. 
They are caring and respectful of you. They will never use you or take advantage of you.   They are thoughtful of you and respect your boundaries.  They will never try to control you or others around them. 
Your relaxed around them. 
You genuinely feel relaxed and calm around them.  You will never feel manipulated by them or that they are trying to hide something from you. 
They treat others well.
They are usually compassionate and empathic. They NEVER, never, NEVER think they are better than someone else.  They are outwardly focused.  They want to help you and others.  They are great listeners and want to be supportive.
They always tell the truth.
When someone is comfortable with you to tell you how they feel, and have your best interest at heart.  They choice to give you constructive criticism and want you to better yourself. Instead of being mean and tearing you down.  A trustworthy person will not lie  to you or hide from you when you ask for their opinion.
They hold themselves accountable.
A trustworthy person can admit when they are wrong.  They do not try to justify their actions or push it on to someone else.  Rather they except accountability for their actions and face the consequence that result from their decisions.  They are not only accountable with you but with everyone.  Remember they are constant across the board. 
They always follow through with their actions and always keep their word.
I hope this helps you and gives you some insight into how to better yourself and become the kind of person others can trust implicitly with sensitive information.  The world needs more people like us!!

Had a special tribute to Sinead O'Connor.
This story discusses suicide.
When reading about Sinead it really made me sad.  Morrissey from the band the Smiths spoke out of his outrage to the music industry.
After a successful career that spanned multiple decades, Sinéad O’Connor has passed away at the age of 56.
News of the musician's death broke on Wednesday, but an official cause of death has not been released yet.
I could ask you why you do or don't like her.  She explained in many interviews many different things, but so many were not listening. 
In one, she tells of her mother who was Catholic and adored the Pope, and how she abused her.  That famous photo of the pope that she tore up was her mothers and to her it was a therapeutic experience. 
Let me read a bit from Morrissey statement them I will continue: (this is from article billboard)
In 2017, the Irish singer spoke openly about her mental health and suicidal thoughts in an emotional video, claiming that her family had abandoned her.
“It’s like being a bucket with holes in it. Just leaking tears from every pore,” she said.
“Why are we alone?” she said. “People who suffer from mental illness are the most vulnerable people on Earth. You’ve got to take care of us. We’re not like everybody.”
Sinead explains in another interview just one of the reasons she did not trust the music industry.  She gave her children specific instructions before her death.  
The first step? To call her accountant.
"See, when the artists are dead, they're much more valuable than when they're alive," O'Connor noted in an interview. "Tupac has released way more albums since he died than he ever did alive, so it's kind of gross what record companies do."
She continued, "That's why I've always instructed my children since they were very small, 'If your mother drops dead tomorrow, before you called 911, call my accountant and make sure the record companies don't start releasing my records and not telling you where the money is.'"
She had to deal with death threats in 1997 from the now, yes NOW National security minister of Israel.
At the time, the young man named Itamar Ben-Gvir took credit for the campaign against her.
Then on January 2022, O’Connor was hospitalized just days after her 17-year-old son Shane died.  The singer sought medical care after posting a series of alarming Twitter posts claiming that she planned to die by suicide. 
Later on, the star added to her tweets and apologized, admitting that she "shouldn't have said that."
"I am with cops now on way to hospital. I’m sorry I upset everyone,” she wrote. “I am lost without my kid and I hate myself. Hospital will help a while. But I’m going to find Shane. This is just a delay.”
Sinead died on Wednesday at the aged 56.

Today's word of the day is   " loyal "

What is the meaning of loyalty?
When you ‘google’ the word loyal, the definition is ‘giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution’. Loyalty is genuinely having their best interests at heart and ensuring that relationship is re-cip-rocal.
Loyalty is such a powerful thing.  If we look at life as a story, we want the characters near and dear to us to be ones that we can trust.
So why is loyatly so important?
On a personal level, loyalty stands for commitment & dedication to another allowing respect & trust to flourish. It is important in both our personal & business lives.  It is valuable because it allows us to take the risk of predicting the actions & behavior of the people we trust.
Someone who is loyal is reliable and always true, like your trusty dog.
So if we see ourselves like Batman, we want a Robin. Pebbles and Bamm Bamm.  Kirk and Spock. Bond and moneypenny.  Not a sidekick but loyal, trusted souls. (Hard to find these days.)
Loyalty, to most, is knowing someone has your best interests at heart, DOESN'T mean just agreeing with you because you are friends or family.
A loyal partner is going to be honest with you, even when it hurts one or both of you to do so.
So see, When you are loyal you have the ability to put others before yourself.  But in doing so, you must always maintain healthy boundaries with those around you so you can be loyal to them in a productive way.
For some people, they remain in relationships that no longer serve them. In these instances, their sense of loyalty can cause them to become exploited or abused. While loyalty is an important trait, it should not be used against someone.
It can be hard for someone who is loyal to recognize when they are being manipulated by someone they love. It can be helpful to get an outside perspective from a friend, family, someone who has your best interest at heart.  That is what happened with me.  I actually started to see these things BUT loyalty keep me from moving on, and being afraid that this relationship would dissolve, which it did.
So, Remember that loyalty is a trait that you can cultivate in your life.
Show your appreciation
Be supportive
Maintain their confidence
Keep your promises
Be honest
Act in others best interests
Address problems within the relationship
Always remember that you are worthy of love, respect and loyalty.  And remember if someone leaves you it's ok, there is someone you deserve right around the corner.

TUDDLES BIRTHDAY!! #152

Today is Monday July 24th.  Today we are celebrating Tuddles birthday.  
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
When trying to find a word that would describe my friend Bamm Bamm it was very hard.  There are so many to pick from: available, caring, empathetic, funny, giving, Loyal, sensitive, generous, good listener, kind, sympathetic, truthful, understanding and considerate to name a few. He is also the word of the day, which is -
Today's word of the day is  "authentic "
//: true to one's own personality, spirit, or character

"Some people go through extreme measures to get noticed, but when you're authentic, all you have to do is arrive!" I love that quote
 
What makes a perfect friendship? How do we find and keep friends who encourage and strengthen who we are?
Reflect on the most meaningful friendships in your life. Think of that person you can call at any time of the day when you need some advice, are feeling down, or when you just need a good laugh.
The beauty of friendship is that you get to choose your friends, unlike with family. But anyone who's ever had a negative experience with someone they thought was a friend can probably attest to the fact that it isn't always easy to spot true friendship.
A true friendship is defined by knowing someone has your back.  A good friend will watch out for you and ensure you are safe, feel supported, and are loved. A good friend will never purposely lead you into making decisions or taking actions that aren't good for you. A true friend will always have your best interests at heart.
The most authentic people I’ve ever met have had this quality in common: they care about me as a human being and a person.  We all know of people who only care about themselves.  When you’re around them, they only talk about themselves.  When they listen to you, you get the sense that it’s a chore or duty that they have to put up with until they can refocus back on themselves.   I know you have experienced those type of people, I have.
There’s is actually a term for them. Yes a name for it: conversational narcissist.  A conversational narcissist is a person who asks you a question about yourself, not because they’re interested in you, but because they want to use that question to tell you about them. This behavior is not being authentic.  Because authenticity has to do with our concern for other people, not just us.
And a trustworthy friend is someone who is dependable and with whom you can share your secrets without fear of them being revealed. They are someone who will always be there for you no matter what. Trustworthy friends remind you that you are not alone and empower you to be a better person.
The people in life that I’ve found the most genuine have this quality. And one of those people we are celebrating Bamm Bamm or Tuddles.

Today is Friday July 21st, and man it was noisy over here!  Roof was finally being replaced after the hailstorm on May 8th.  Thanks for everyone who stayed and supported.  Y'all are the best.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
 
Today's word of the day is   " determination  "

What is determination?
 
Whether you call it determination, grit or old-fashioned hard work, the will to keep going is a vital component of success.
In fact, recent research suggests that having determination is more important than being smart.  That is because your intelligence is an inherently passive quality, but determination is active.  This is what that means:
- Determination is transformative
Your talents may create opportunities, but you have to put in the real work to make those opportunities a reality.  Hard work is so important that, even if you have an average level of talent, you can still use determination to transform what you do have into success.
- Determination keeps you moving forward
It is about staying focused on a goal.  As long as you have a goal, you can create paths to that goal, moving closer to that success you want.
- Determination overcomes failure
What happens if you run into a obstacle on the path to your goal? You push through them or you blaze a new path.  With determination - it helps you keep going regardless of what's put in front of you.  Failure is just a diversion, it is not the end.
 
You can always work on improving your determination if you think you do not have enough.
- Stay focused on the future
Let your past guide you, but never let it consume you.  Your mistakes of yesterday should be lessons, not reasons for despair.
- Believe in yourself
Believe in your ability to reach your goals.
- Celebrate Others
This is a big one.  Jealousy of others success will only slow you down.  Instead of resenting what others have achieved, see it as something to celebrate.  After all, every time someone reaches their goal, it's proof that goals are reachable! You can achieve yours too, if you stay focused & positive.
- Have smaller goals within the larger goal
Give yourself Milestones you want to reach.  Reaching goals can be like running a marathon.  You can only focus one mile at a time, not the full 26.2 miles.
- Be grateful
Take time to recognize what you have instead of obsessing about what you do not have.  It will help you stay grounded and keep you thinking about the positive.

Finally Friday - Start your day with a little sugar‼️😁💕❤️#148

Today is Friday July 14th.
I am going to start of the day with the word of the day & quote of the day. A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT IN A WORLD OF HATE, Let's go!
 
Today's word of the day is  "Badass  "
//:  a tough, uncompromising, or intimidating person:

BE BADASS EVERYDAY!"

What is a badass?
 
According to Katie Couric “A badass woman stands up for herself, is confident, and is not afraid to challenge the hierarchy, the patriarchy, or conventional thinking.”  I believe that being a badass has less to do with strength and more to do with internal fortitude.  It’s about being confident, self-reliant, pushing our limits, and not letting anything stop us from accomplishing our goals.
SO that being said:
A real badass is driven by values such as responsibility, justice, honor, courage, compassion, humility, integrity, and selflessness.  A badass doesn’t compromise their values for the sake of others’ comfort. 
Badasses aren’t superhuman.  They excel at what they do because they don’t waste time and energy on things they don’t care about — or things they suck at. 
They know how to focus on what they want. This means not letting your focus get pulled away from where you want to go.
They know how to say no to distractions and offers — especially when they’re tempting.  This is a very important skill you can learn.
Whatever you decide to pursue, the final step is putting everything you’ve got into achieving it.
Laser focus and dogged pursuit of your goal will make you truly stand apart from the crowd — like a true badass.
Badass's are not admired because of what they are or where they come from.
They are respected because of what they do, and what they accomplish.
They typically have average or slightly below average beginnings.
These badass humans weren't born.  They were made.  Through the challenges they faced in life and those they set for themselves, they become icons.
Badass's grow to see obstacles as opportunities to learn.  They see goals and they're willing to do just about anything to get there, which is also a characteristic of a leader.
That's not to say you should trample everyone in your path - you can be a source of inspiration.  People who stand up for what's good and right, despite the risks, are true badasses!
Badassery isn't a quality that's easy to come by.  It's earned by perseverance and struggle.  It's granted only in pursuit of a vision that's bigger than the person who  is imagining it.
So yes, you can learn how to become a badass.  It's a journey that you can begin right now.  Be your best version of yourself!
